McLeodganj: Begin your cycling adventure in McLeodganj, the residence of the Tibetan spiritual leader – Dalai Lama. Starting from the vibrant market with its array of eateries, cafes, and shops, ride off to peaceful serenity.
Barnet Village: A 16 km cycling adventure through mesmerizing oak, pine, rhododendron forests and the seasonal pink blossom ‘Paja’ trees, from McLeodganj to Barnet village. A village that offers a serene and picturesque retreat. With calm streets, traditional houses, and friendly locals, it provides an authentic cultural experience showcasing rural life, agriculture, and handicrafts. A delightful destination for peaceful exploration.
Resting Point: Experience some homemade snacks and tea/coffee, besides an old Nag Temple in Barnet village amidst the refreshing view of Pine-forest covered mountains.
Lunch: From Barnet, start cycling uphill, back to Mcleodganj for a traditional Himachali feast called “Dham”. It typically consists of a variety of dishes like rice, lentils, curries, vegetables, and desserts, that are native to the region, showcasing the local cuisine and flavours. Each dish is prepared with local ingredients and reflects the cultural heritage of Himachal Pradesh.

Snehal, a seasoned educator of creative writing and English, has dedicated over a decade to teaching in Bombay. Currently residing in Dharamshala, he combines his passion for outdoor activities and guiding by managing a climbing wall and leading treks and cycle rides. In 2022, Snehal successfully completed his Basic Mountaineering Course at NIM Uttarkashi, further enhancing his expertise. His extensive experience includes undertaking long-distance rides in Himachal, with the Manali to Kaza route being his most recent accomplishment.
